El Secreto de María — Ribera del Duero
Born from a historic vineyard of 85 years in La Horra, El Secreto de María is one of the most personal wines of Dominio de Montelahorra: a tribute to the old vines of our village and to the hands that have tended them for generations.
A vineyard with memory
The almost century-old Tinto Fino vines, bush-trained on the soils of La Horra, produce small, concentrated clusters. From that natural balance of age, altitude and patience comes a limited-production wine that is only made when the vintage deserves it — the 2020, now on the market, is regarded as one of the most spectacular in Ribera del Duero in the past decade.
Tasting notes
A deep, elegant red, with the ripe fruit, spiced complexity and silky texture that only old vines can give. Download the technical sheet for full details of winemaking and ageing for the current vintage.
Food pairing and serving
Excellent with roast suckling lamb, red meats and mature Castilian cheeses. Serve at 16–18 °C.
