El Corazón de la Tierra — Ribera del Duero

Sourced from vineyards over 90 years old in La Horra, at 860 metres of altitude and on sandy soils, El Corazón de la Tierra is the most sincere expression of Tinto Fino in Ribera del Duero. Almost century-old vines that yield little fruit, but with a concentration and depth no young vineyard can match.

Winemaking

The manual harvest and careful winemaking in stainless-steel tanks precede its ageing of 15 months in new 500-litre French oak barrels — a format that respects the fruit and polishes the tannin without masking its origin. The wine is bottled without fining, keeping all its purity and authenticity, in a limited production of 4,000 bottles.

Tasting notes

A red of great intensity, with ripe black fruit over a spiced background (cinnamon) and a mineral echo on the finish that reveals its sandy soils at altitude. On the palate it is broad, with ripe tannins and a long finish. Download the technical sheet for the full details of the vintage.

Food pairing and serving

An ideal companion for suckling lamb, chargrilled meats, wild mushrooms and mature cheeses. Serve at 16–18 °C; being unfined, it welcomes decanting.
